Is the C1a suitable for children as well as adults?
Yes. It uses one set of pads for adults and children, with a switch on the unit to change between them. Pads for the C1a come as one adult/child set, so you only need one type in the cabinet.
Do I need to tell my insurer or HSE before I install an AED?
We can't give insurance or legal advice, so check with your insurer. Many organisations let their insurer know when an AED is installed. We can send a quote or an invoice with the model and serial number if your insurer asks for it.
Can I keep it outdoors?
The C1a is IP55 rated for dust and water, but it isn't built to sit outside unprotected. For outdoor use, put it in a heated outdoor cabinet. Indoor cabinets are also available.
What happens if it's stolen or vandalised?
Cabinets with an alarm help deter theft. Check whether your property or contents insurance covers it. Call us on 089 420 4904 and we'll help you replace it.
Do I need training to use it?
No. The voice prompts talk anyone through each step. Training is still worthwhile, because people who have practised are more confident. We can point you to local CPR and AED training.
What will it cost to keep ready over time?
- The 8-year manufacturer's warranty is included.
- Adult/child pads are €90 per set. Pads and battery last about 5 years.
- A replacement 5-year battery is €200.
- An AED service is €100, and free for existing customers.
- All prices are ex VAT.
